Muchas Gracias.

For those that are looking for a SIM seat solution that can be put away when done playing, this is what you need. Setup is very quick, simple and was racing before you knew it. Love the seat, very comfortable and the ability to adjust the seat to suit whatever your needs are is fantastic. Takes less time now to setup and put away the game racing gear than before and way more comfortable.
Now time to upgrade my wheel and pedals.....
Keep the shiny side up! -

Some background first. I had to upgrade from the Wheel Stand Pro which I used for 2 years. It did the job, but not quite. Having a separate chair was not comfortable enough for my back. I needed an upgrade. A full rig was out of the question, as our house doesn't have a man-cave. So my wife would not be happy with a rig lying around. I finally settled for the Playseat Challenge and man, still asking why I didn't buy this seat before.
Setting it up was a breeze. But then came the real test. Sitting down in it. I was somehow doubtful it would be stable. So I cautiously got in the seat and WOW! You really feel you got into a race car. I had to adjust a bit the seating position by tweaking a bit the velcro steps, but that's it. And did I already say it's really comfortable? Heck, this seat is more comfortable than my Celica.
Besides saving my back, another advantage I found was that everytime you open up the Playseat Challenge, it always gives you the same setup every single time, as if you're getting in your own car, which is great. Unlike the Wheel Stand Pro, where you have to fiddle around with the levers, so it's not always the same setup.
During sim racing, besides being comfortable, you also don't have a bar in the middle, like the Wheel Stand Pro. which might get in the way (especially if you're using 3 pedals and heal-and-toe).
Stashing it away, which is why I bought this in the first place, is quick and easy. Collapse the chair, strap a velcro band to secure it, wrap the wires around the pedals, collapse the pedals, strap another small velcro band and done - 2 min job flat.
Get yourself a present, and get this chair. You won't regret it. -

With regards to the wheel, I opted for the T300RS GT, as after reading numerous reviews this seemed like a great wheel at a reasonable price. Accuracy and force feedback feel great!
In short, I recommend this combination (Playseat Challenge + Thrustmaster T300RS GT) to anyone looking to add to their racing experience and willing to spend around 600EUR. -

Delivery was very fast, and the product was packaged very well.
The construction of the seat surprised me by its sturdiness. It was very easy to mount following the included instructions.
However, it is during the installation process that I discovered the few drawbacks.
First, the included velcro strap isn't long enough to hold my Fanatec ClubSport pedals. Thankfully it's nothing a few zip-ties cannot fix.
Next, as some earlier reviews have pointed out - there is no shifter/handbrake mount included. My Fanatec GT3 wheel comes with a mounting system (although a flimsy one) so I was able to mount the shifter this way.
On the plus side, I was able to correctly mount my steering wheel using the attached hardware and pre-drilled holes.
Cable management is tricky, if like me, you want to have everything attached all the time. You have to compensate for the chair folding in terms of cable length. This is not a design flaw - I don't think there would be a way of simplifying this.
In usage, as mentioned earlier, the construction is very sturdy. It does wobble a little bit, especially around the steering wheel, but it doesn't break the gaming experience. This is the price to pay for being able to have a real racing cockpit in a small room.
The folding aspect is great, it takes me around 2 minutes to fold the chair out and be ready for racing.
Storage is easy, but beware of it tipping over if you have heavy steering wheel and pedals - just put it against the wall to solve that problem.
There are two unexpected bonuses due to the design of the seat : First, no central pillar between the legs due to the wheel mounting system. You can move your knees around, like in a real car.
Second, the Vibration and Force Feedback of my Fanatec gear transfers into the light construction of the seat so I'm able to feel the bumps and the RPM of the car in the whole body. It greatly helps the gaming experience.
Once folded out, it looks and feels like a racing seat. It becomes the centerpiece of the room.
Overall it is a great buy for someone without the space for a full-on racing cockpit but who wants to experience the game in a different way.
It is relatively inexpensive for this type of quality. There are a few drawbacks but nothing major (although the shifter/handbrake mount would be welcome).
P.S.: It's much easier to convince your wife of having one because you can easily stow it away! -

The Playseat Challenge is a valuable tool that has raised our program to a higher level. The students are intrigued by the seat and are eager to participate. The seat is portable, easy to store and ship to events, and quick to set up.
The order process is efficient and the customer service is focused on meeting the needs of the customer in a timely manner.
I would highly recommend the Playseat Challenge to other organizations. -

When it arrived and I opened the box, the room started smelling of roses and mythical plants until then unknown to man. The assembling part was both easy and yet fulfilling, as if I was accomplishing my true destiny in life, bringing something good into the world. The sound of the velcros on the straps still resonate in my mind, making my skin tingle at the thought.
Once seated in it, it is like being cradled safely in the arms of a gentle goddess, knowing she'll give you her protection while you drive your virtual cars. Somehow the seats adjusts to your body as if it was made of an alien living textile alloy.
As for storing, who could even think of doing such a thing? I know I haven't yet, but I have no doubt it would be very easy, just by looking at the marvel of engineering that this thing is. -

Spoiled for choice, isn't it?
Not everyone has the necessary space for a permanent race seat, others don't want it for other reasons. And a desk mounted steering wheel that is constantly screwed on and off? Not many alternatives remain. Of course there are still the classic wheel stands, which have their justification. However, you need a suitable seat for these too. Nobody wants to use a rolling office chair for this, even an armchair is too uncomfortable in the long run. Yes, even a decent gaming chair costs as much as the folding Playseat Challenge. If you start thinking about it now, you already know, yes, a folding seat for simracing is needed.
Unboxing:
When you unbox the Playseat Challenge for the first time, you're surprised how compact everything is. The term "camping chair" in the guise of a racing seat is truly false, because both the fabric cover and the workmanship (including the frame) are robust and of high quality. Once you sit in the seat, there are hardly any vibrations. Everything is firmly in its place. Of course there are differences to a fixed rig whose goal it is to avoid any vibrations. But if you could expect this from a collapsible chair, you would have a wrong idea of what this chair can do. The feedback of the chair is very good, the robust construction leaves no doubt that you can have many hours of fun here permanently.
Rally specialists should be told that even rough steering movements are swallowed by the Playseat Challenge, nothing slips and the fun of the game is not spoiled.
Playing comfort:
I have now spent many hours in front of the monitor and am still very satisfied with the comfort of the racing seat. It folds in and out in under a minute. Accessories such as a digital dashboard (with a small external screen) can be attached as a DIY solution, but of course are not officially supported by the chair. Instead, it scores with a flawless pedal mount that won't slip even when the brakes are applied forcefully. If you want to look for a shortcoming, then there where the hook and loop fastener securing the pedal unit is attached. This loosens from time to time and if you forget the occasional check, it can happen that the pedals slip out of the holder when folding. I circumvent the problem by attaching an additional strap, then everything holds securely. But here we are talking about a little thing, straps just give way.
Steering wheel and pedals:
As steering wheel I use the TMX Pro (the Playstation-pendant is the T150) which is distributed by Thrustmaster. As pedals the well known TP3A. Unfortunately the TMX Pro has the peculiarity that in connection with the seat no mounting with screws is possible. The competition from Logitech G29/G920 makes it better here. The T300 from Thrustmaster can also be screwed on without problems. However, the TMX Pro's clamping device is better than its reputation, and if you want to avoid the steering wheel slipping minimally due to the seat constantly folding up and down, it's best to attach the hook and loop fastener supplied with the chair under the steering wheel. The counterpart on the steering wheel mount of the Playseat Challenge. In combination with the clamping device of the TMX Pro, nothing can slip anymore. But be careful, the hook and loop fastener holds enormously, a new loosening is only possible under effort. In connection with this steering wheel there is an adapter from Ricmotech, with which the TMX Pro can be screwed to the bracket of the Playseat Challenge. This would be the expensive additional solution.
Against tilting:
An important detail that almost goes under is the anti-tilting device at the bottom of the Playseat Challenge. If you forget to pull it out, the Playseat Challenge can tip to the side due to gravity when getting out of the seat. So, don't forget it! But the user manual points this out and is altogether well described.
Save space:
If you're not in a particular hurry, you can also just fold the pedals and push the seat to the side. This saves space and the racing seat can be left standing. But even when folded, the racing seat does not need to hide. When looking in the cupboard every day, the seat invites you to play again and again.
GT or Formula 1?
When it comes to seating comfort, I can reassure anyone. You sit comfortably for many hours. Especially since the seat position can be adjusted from upright (GT position) to half lying (Formula 1 position).
Conclusion:
What remains to be said about the chair? It's a piece of equipment that will provide a lot of fun for a long time, an elementary object of the sim world. As the basis for the steering wheel, it makes a decisive contribution to the fun of the game. After all, who can keep up for a long time when after an hour your back hurts from the couch chair? So it's better to grab a folding chair like this and be rid of your worries. Simracing is becoming more and more popular, the Playseat Challenge provides many reasons why this is so.

I have been using it already for more then few weeks and I can say, that it is a really well designed, comfortable, functional, takes very low space when it is not being used.
Even my wife likes it and actually she started to play Rally for the first time in her life :D
My kid is still too little (3y), but he also asks me to let him drive. He climbs up on my knees and likes to test drive for few minutes.
In General, for beginners and when you need to save apartment space - probably it is the best choice.

Challenge was the chair that fits all the criteria:
1. Foldable
2. Comfortable
3. A bit pricey, but still an okay price
4. Nice quality of materials and overall build quality
Assembly process does not require a lot of time, the initial correction to your body -- this takes quite some time, but it's only at first with minor corrections over the first time playing with it, after that you are good to use it without the need to correct anything.
My usual racing sessions consist of 1.5-3h of driving, not getting up. Before I got Challenge, I was using regular generic dining chair. It was uncomfortable to use and since pedals weren't fixated, had some minor inconveniences that made me poorly focus on racing.
After getting Challenge, I no longer suffer from some random pains, I focus purely on the race, since my wheel, shifter and pedals are fixated properly and do not bother me during racing.
I highly recommend this chair to anyone who is:
1. A beginner and starts getting into sim racing
2. An advanced sim racer who is constricted with the space at home and needs a compact solution (there's just no better alternative to it, except doing everything DIY, which can be even pricier in the end)
Overall I am satisfied by this model and I am happily using it every day.
Thank you, Playseat!
P.S. Ordered my chair on Sunday, it was shipped out on Monday.
Came on Friday and it was a day later than promised by FedEx, but it is because of virus and border shutdown.
Still would say it was very fast shipping and much needed fun delivered right to my home in such unpleasant times in the world. -

I looked at tables, racing rigs on amazon, and then i stumbled upon this. While putting it together you do certainly question if this is what you paid for, but upon hopping in the playseat and running raps in grab Turismo, you quickly see what it is all about.
For a person as myself with a larger frame, I fit in the seat and was definitely held in place. Having the ability to adjust the wheel and pedals to your seating position is great, and serves as a way to have other drivers fit in the seat comfortably.
Already hooked, grabbing more games, and my friends are already looking into getting their own playseats.
I highly suggest getting one, and changing your racing experience moving forward. -

Ordering/Shipping: I ordered my Playseat during their Black Friday sale and got a great deal on it. The order was processed quickly and I received regular updates via e-mail on the status of my order. I had ordered my Playseat on a Sunday. It was delivered on Friday - a mere 5 days to get from the Netherlands to my home in Washington, DC. I received regular shipping updates from the shipper as well, which were much appreciated.
Setup/Installation: The Playseat comes in a decent sized box with just a few pieces to assemble. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and everything was super simple to put together. No tools are required either as they provide everything you could need. I had the entire thing set up in around 5 minutes, which is about as good as you can get for a "plug and play" setup.
Quality: The overall quality is top notch, especially for the price. I'm 6'5" (~1.96m) and 200 pounds (~90kg) and fit comfortably in the seat. The rails are heavy duty enough to where I feel no flex from them when I sit down in the seat and it doesn't flex or move around on me when getting out. The simulated Alcantara they use on the seat itself is great quality and feels somewhat similar to the Alcantara on my actual race seat, and breathes just as well. The swing arm setup for the steering wheel which allows you to get out and into the seat is a basic setup, but works flawlessly and seamlessly.
Design: The section for the pedals is adjustable in or out, so you can really customize where your feet are on the pedals, which is extremely nice.
The overall cradle design of the seat itself is extremely comfortable and very close to my actual racing seat. While you don't get the side bolster support you would from an actual race seat, you obviously don't need it since you're not experiencing any lateral g forces while playing. The straps that support the seat as well are near perfectly placed and don't interfere or bother you at all. While the seat is not adjustable forwards or backwards and has no adjustable lumbar support, I've never found that to be a problem. It seems to be perfectly fit for the proper form while racing.
The mount for the steering wheel is properly centered and easily lifts up and out to allow entry and exit from the seat. The wheel mount is also adjustable up or down like a telescoping steering wheel in a car would be. My one complaint would be that the wheel isn't adjustable up or down. I'd prefer if it was adjustable up or down, but you can adjust the telescope side of the wheel mount pretty easily to compensate pretty well for this.
Overall: If you have limited space and want a great racing seat setup, I would highly recommend the Playseat Challenge! It's extremely comfortable, well built and designed, folds up and stores easily and looks great! I've spent easily 40 hours in my seat since I received it and have recommended it to all of my racing friends who have mentioned in the past wanting a home setup. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase one again! -

I am using a Logitech Momo wheel with the Playseat Challenge. All I had to do was remove the center desk clamp from the Momo. The two "front edge" clamps work fine to secure the Momo to the baseplate using a couple pieces of wood to create the "desk depth" that the Momo clamps expect.

Product arrived well packed and the box was way smaller than I expected (even was able to transport it in my Porsche which is rare for any kind of boxes). After opening the box instructions were very clear and assembly of the seat was quick and easy and entirely tools free. My Logitech wheel and pedals also fit perfectly on it.
I have been using the chair for some weeks now almost 5 hours a day and I can tell it is way higher quality for the price than I expected. It is very comfortable to use even long times and haven't shown any sign of being too weakly built on any part. Also it folds away while keeping my pedals and wheel on it so zero extra hassle for taking them on and off either. In the design they seem to have thought of everything since there is even a small pull out side support to stop the seat from falling when you open the wheel part to get into the chair.
It is first racing seat I have no regrets for going for this one. It doesn't feel any worse than my friends more expensive fixed one. Only happens to be cheaper and way more girlfriend friendly. -

Ordered directly from the Playseat Store, delivered in 4 days. very easy to put together and easy to adjust. I am an average height and weight and the seat is very comfortable. I am using the Playseat Challenge with a Logitech G29, and had no problems installing.
The most amazing thing is how it folds up to a very reasonable size, even with wheel and pedals hardbolted - even my wife is impressed (relieved) that it can be easily stored.
All in all, you just can't go wrong with this. If you are stuck for space it is a no-brainer, and even if you have lots of space it's worth getting too. Now i just need to learn how to drive properly ....

100% recomendable.
Playseat very comfortable, strong and light, easy to assemble and fold. There is no need to disassemble steering wheel or pedals to store.
Perfect solution for lack of space in the game area and you can save it anywhere.
The material is of good quality and gives a good feeling of immersion in racing games.
100% recommendable. -

Guess who got a Playseat Challenge, right, I did...
Love it!
Easy to setup. Very solid, especially since it folds up. It is also pretty comfortable but a bit narrow for my somewhat over-size hiney.
Time to race, pull it out, fold down the pedals, sit down, drop the wheel and everything is perfectly setup.
Company coming, it is out of sight in 30 seconds.
I love this chair and wish I had gotten it sooner. If you are on the fence, come on in, the water is perfect, you will not regret it. -

GAME CHANGER. With the wheel (and the arguably weak pedals with the TMX, but who cares, can upgrade later :)); and this chair, force feedback on high and I'm having an absolute ball playing F12018, Dirt, and attempting Asseto Corsa but damn that game is twitchy. I have driven cars on multiple race tracks around the world and well, I just don't have the time to do that anymore. Look, the thing is rock solid, folds really well, and you can the guys that designed and built this thing give a sh*. Not some cheap Asian knock-off, poorly designed item. They ship it to you from Europe via Fedex (included, amazing, you can track it all the way)! JUST GET IT! You can see the other kids stuff etc. in this pic, but you can also see how nicely it tucks away, and just open, plug in, and ready to go! -

The only weak point is that the seat is not enough adjustable to be used by kids smaller than 150cm, therefore my little son needs to wait for a couple of more years. I believe that can be fixed by making liftable pedals frame.

The only ding I have to give it (and it's a quarter star off, not the whole one) is the triangle anchors for the arm rest Velcro bands. The triangle shape sticks out just enough to be noticeable pressing against your outer thigh. Now, I've sat in the chair for at least two hours and have never had any bruising, but an alternate design choice here could eliminate this one contact point. -

Having the wheel fold out makes it very easy to get in and out, while allowing you to have an excellent stability and cockpit environment when in use. I am 5'8 and had no trouble getting I to a comfortable position, with plenty of adjustment available to fit my 6 ft friend as well. The simple strap and backstop system means your pedals are rock solid without having to hardmount them. And the sliding system means you have lots of room to move the pedals and get into the perfect position.
The seat is comfortable, with thick durable material and heavy duty velcro straps that can be adjusted to affect the support and seating angle. While not the easiest system, you can't really adjust while sitting in the seat, it only took me about 10 min of trial and error when I first set it up and haven't thought about it since. I can't really think of a better system for this chair that wouldn't increase complexity, price or weight so I can't fault Playseat for the velco set up. It works well, and is a good solution.
It's not the most stable platform, which is to be expected from something as light as this. However your body weight keeps it well on the ground, and to be honest the little movement that the force feedback causes adds to the immersion for me, as some of the ffb is transmitted into my most, much in the same way motion from a car would be. However I have no qualms about the durability of the chair.
The only concern I have is the plastic piece that locks the wheel carrier in place. I feel that if you didn't properly line up the metal tab with the slot in the plastic and forced it closed to many times that it would potentially break. However I am careful to line it up Everytime I use it and don't think it will break barring user error. I would have liked to see that part be metal as well though, for piece of mind.
Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. I got it on discount, bit would t hesitate to purchase at full price.
Solid 4 out of 5 from me, and a huge step up from other small or cpact alternatives. Great job Playseat! -

The seat itself adds to the immersion factor of simracing. It really is a must to take your experience to another level on a reasonably tight budget or tight space.
The seat is perfect if you are limited on space or need to move it around a lot. It is light weight, can be folded up in a minute and laid back out again swiftly.
The stand that the wheel connects to is very sturdy and perfect for force-feed back wheels such as the g29. The plate can also be adjusted along with the pedal plate for comfort.
In short, I would definitely recommend this seat due to the great value and quality you receive. A highly comfortable and sturdy rig that is perfect for those who are on a tighter budget and lacking space -

I was immediately shocked at how much better I could focus on driving instead of wrestling with a wheel stand or pedal movement.
Overall the seat feels very sturdy. I am a big guy, 6'2" (~188cm) and 230 lbs (~104 kg), so this really says a lot.
All of this AND it folds up! Are you kidding me? This feature makes for a high spousal approval rating.
My only issue so far has been the retaining piece that secures the steering wheel arm. It appears to have gotten bent at some point. This causes a little movement of the arm. This doesn't make the seat unusable, but it is just annoying. I am hoping that I can replace the part.
This seat is a great deal, and at its price, it is a no-brainer. -

- My wheel fits perfectly on this seats (and I'm not afraid anymore to break the table on which I fixed it before)
- I can use the screen in the living room (the biggest at home) without having to move the screen or putting in place a crazy installation.
I simply move the seat (with everything attached on it and cable tighten with the equipment provided), in front of the TV, plug the 2 cables (Power and USB), run a couple of races and then move it back to his closet.
Being able to store/hide the seat in a closed (or anywhere) is a life changer as the "lady of the house" is not complaining anymore about my stuff lying around :D

2. Construction was quite simple, not too much hassle.
3. Sitting process is also cool, when you see right away you don't feel the comfort but after sometime, you feel the ergonomics are good. I wish steering part was adjustable, so you can bring closer to yourself. But still really good.
4. Overall impressions are quite positive. Worths every penny. Definitely awesome for such budget. Please keep it up! -

Being an average married 30 year old, my wife controls every aspect of my life, and thank god she let's me have an office where I can play video games with her permission, but she wasn't going to let me add a big non collapsible sim rig to the room. WHAT AN EYESORE she would think, and so that wasn't going to happen.
THANK YOU TO PLAYSEAT for making a rig which folds up to the size of about 2 folding chairs stacked on eachother, because of this I was able to slowly convince my wife to let me get the rig. My cables are long enough that all I have to do it's fold it up and move it off to the side of my desk when not in use, and I can unfold it and be back in action when I want to play in no time.
Now I'm heel-toeing like a boss, breaking all my old lap records, and looking good doing it.
Build quality is much better than expected given the low price, everything is very solid and I was even able to mount my shifter on the side with minimal wobble.
Can't recommend this thing more. Thank God I found out about it. -

Stable enough for slim guy and G25, easy to get in/out.
The alcantara material is very nice and comfortable, I really like how compact and how easy it is to (un)pack it. Disconnect power adapter/usb put them inside the chair fold the chair, strap it on top, fold pedals, strap them - and that's it - can put it aside and clear the space.
I use it with G25 w/o shifter, Oculus Rift, racing in AC. Previously mounted G25 on computer table and sat on dining chair - obviously quite an improvement from that - also feel my times/consistency improved with it.
Cool product, thanks. -

After reading the reviews I decided to order. I couldn't believe how quickly it got to the United States. (3 days, I think!) The outer packaging was slightly damaged, but the second inner box was in perfect condition. I unpacked it and had it assembled in about 15 minutes. The Logitech wheel fit perfectly and secured with the included bolts. I was able to adjust the angle of the wheel platform, sitting position, and distance to the pedals so it fit perfectly. I am 6'3" 220lbs. This thing was plenty big, and sturdy enough for me to flop into it. It was also adjustable enough to work for my 9 year old. If you are much bigger than me it may get a little tight. The seat is about 19 inches wide and around your knees, where the wheel supports come down, is about 16.5 inches. Your legs angle in toward the pedals at that point and it fits me well with a little extra room.
Everybody wanted to take a turn once I got it set up. The immersion is incredible between the force feedback on the wheel being passed onto the chair and the VR goggles. Did I mention this thing is comfortable? I told my wife to come check it out. The VR games made her sick to her stomach, but she comented on how comfortable the chair was. She said she wanted to watch a movie in it. I told her to get out and I got back to driving. She can get her own. For something that looks like a lawn chair in the box the Velcro straps across your back, molded headrest, and sturdy frame give excellent support. The wheel and pedals are held securely and allow you to really muscle them around without them going anywhere.
Storing it away is as easy as the other reviews say. Fold the frame, strap, fold the pedals, strap, and slide it into a corner. No more than two minutes. When you unfold it the side Velcro straps put it right back into the position you had it in previously.
For little more than a quality wheel stand, do yourself a favor and pick this up instead. -

This thing is awesome. Super comfortable, great quality alcantara, great mounting points for the T150 (with Ricmotech adapter), and it even included hardware! The only reason I was frustrated by that was because I went and got the exact same bolts it came with because I didn't realize it had them with it!
You can sit in the chair for hours on end and not worry about it, it doesn't get too hot, and there really isn't any noticable movement in the steering wheel plate.

The Challenge arrived in the USA in less that a week and was well packaged, double boxed, and in perfect condition. Assembly was a simple process and was completed by following the clearly illustrated and diagrams in the manual. There are no language barriers to overcome; just follow the pictures and adjust the seat to position of your choosing. My Thrustmaster 300 wheel fit perfectly with the pre- drilled holes that accommodate most major wheel companies' products. An allen wrench is included along with mounting screws so there is no hunting for tools in the garage.
As far as driving goes, I can drive for much longer and in greater comfort using this seat. It is quite stable, though getting in and out of the seat takes some getting used to especially when the chair is in a steeply reclined position like I use. Once you get some practice egress is easy (I am 65 so...). Once I got to driving I shaved two seconds off my best lap time at Abu Dhabi and I am consistently faster than I was with my wheel stand and chair. The wheel does move up and down a bit, but it is not noticeable while driving and blends with road surface irregularities and bumps quite realistically.
Setting the seat up and taking it down are faster and easier than my previous wheel stand and chair. It requires only one trip to the closet instead of two and everything I need to race is right there. I can't recommend this chair highly enough for anyone who needs portability, comfort, and more speed! -

My only complaint, and this is minor, is the mounting surface for the wheel base. It's fairly sturdy, but even so - when mounting a Thrustmaster T300RS-GT Edition, there is some up/down wobble when steering. I have never used a wheel before so I didn't know the base and wheel would be so heavy to cause this, but to be fair, it's about as sturdy as engineering will allow for a portable/fold-able chair.
It's not problematic when playing because you're immersed in racing and don't really notice, but in the future when I have more space I will absolutely get a full rig so the wheel feels rock solid. I get a bit enthusiastic when driving and tend to push/pull the wheel and I fear I may break the mounting surface eventually on this product.

Done. Yep. Assembly was a breeze. The instructions are illustrations only but it’s really pretty self-explanatory. Now that the chair was assembled it was time to adjust. A word to the wise: Do NOT attempt to adjust the chair whilst sitting in it. Unless you WANT to be splayed out on the floor with your girlfriend laughing at you. With that lesson learned I tried out several positions until I settled on a very laid back stance with my feet far in front of me. It’s amazing. I feel like a champion when I race now and my lap times have already improved. The fine alcantra suede really makes it a comfortable “ride” too. So far, I have zero complaints. Well, it’s a little hard to get out of sometimes but that’s not the chair’s fault. It’s my fault for making the position so low and for being 6 feet 2 inches tall and for not wanting to stop racing.
You know what else is great? I had a party the other day and needed space so I just rotated the steering wheel down and folded everything up and moved it into the closet. Easy peezy.
This is a great product and I encourage anyone that doesn’t have the space or money for a fully actuated racing dungeon to try this product. Tell ‘em I sent ya. (it won’t help you out, but they’re pretty nice anyway)

The Challenge seat was not much more than the stand in cost, but it was a life changer. It is very comfortable, you can play the game for much longer (the wife loves that...no she doesn't...) and it takes up less space (she does love that!). It folds up easily, can be tucked into a closet or behind a chair and it out of sight. It folds out in seconds, I slide it into place and I am locked into a 1,000 HP track monster tearing up Willow Springs. The feel is incredible, it is a night and day improvement, so much more realistic.

From the couch if I setup the proper FOV in game, there was no way that I could play. So, my FOV was never correct.
In addition, sitting on the couch was uncomfortable and my back would hurt after a short while. I never played for more than 45 minutes because of that.
I also couldn't use a set of loadcell pedals I have on the wheel stand b/c there was nothing holding the stand so it would slide when I pressed hard on the breaks.
I finally decided that I would spend the money and buy the Challenge.
WOW. Now, life is different. Here are the highlights:
1) So much more comfortable. Be aware. Time will pass and it will be hours later before you decide to stop playing and that's probably b/c you must go to bed so you can get up and go to work the next day. Boy, I wish my work was to sim race :)
2) Setting up the correct FOV. Again WOW. In some tracks, my time has improved by over 2 seconds. In one particular track, I am over 3 seconds faster. Now, this is not a feature of the seat per se since you could do that by just sitting closer to your monitor on a regular seat, but for me, it is because I now have the Challenge that I can use in my living room and put away when I'm done (may hours later) and have my wife still be happy.
3) Who needs a butt shaker when you have this seat. Because of the construction of the seat, you feel the vibration coming from the wheel on your entire body. I find that so engaging and I believe it even helps with my driving since I know with my entire body what's happening with the car. But don't mistake the feeling of the vibration as a sign that the Challenge is poorly constructed. I've found the construction to be top notch.
4) I can use my loadcell pedals again. This in combination with the proper FOV is what has, I believe, contributed to the better lap times.
Here is the only negative that I found with the seat. There is no built-in way to place a shifter. I knew this so I bought the adapter with the Challenge. However, once I got it, I realized that the position of the shifter with this adapter would not be ideal. I decided to make my own mount. Ram Mounts to the rescue. I purchased the following items: Ram Zinc U-Bold 1-inch ball, Ram Mount Double Socket Arm for 1-inch Ball Bases, Ram Mount Motorcycle Brake/Clutch Reservoir Cover Base with 1-inch Ball.
Once I had these items, I placed the U-Bolt between the seat on the clamp on the right-hand side. I attached the double socket mount and the motorcycle mount to that. Then I attached the shifter to that using the table clamp that came with the shifter.
Final thoughts. Are you short of space and want to have a rig that is easy to setup and put away when done? BUY THE PLAYSET CHALLENGE. Is it better than your couch? Heck yes. Is it better than a desk chair? Heck yes. Is it better than a full-blown rig? If you don't have the space like I don't, heck yes.
BTW, it arrived to my house 2 business days (4 days early total) before the scheduled delivery date. I received it all the way here to the US in 4 days.
My current equipment:
Rig: Playseat Challenge
PC: Intel i5-6500, 16GB memory. 500GB SSD, 2TB HDD, GTX 1016 OC 6GB video card.
Wheel base: Thurstmaster T300RS
Rims: All Thurstmaster: Ferrari F1 Wheel, Ferrari 599XX Evo Alcantara, VG TX (never gets used)

Sims I play in no particular order: Assetto Corsa, rFactor 2, Race Room Racing Experience, Automobilista, iRacing, and I'm looking forward to Project Cars 2.
Racing Level: I'm an average player. In every World Faster Gamer rFactor 2 trials I placed a bit better than 1/2 way every time. In iRacing I have a C license with a 4.97 safety rating and a ~1800 iRating (road, I don't do oval) after 2.5 months. -

Unfortunately the CSL wheel base has only one screw hole that matches with the template on the metal base, but the Playseat Challanges shipped with two huge strips of excellent adhesive velcro tape and that is enough to keep the base in place while driving and when I store it folded.
The seat is very comfortable. After spending about 6 consecutive hours in it (this says a lot about how much fun it is), the only thing that hurt were my hands!
The seat has many degrees of adjustability, so I'd really recommend that you take your time figuring out what works for you. My only complaint is that I wish that the pedal board could be positioned a bit higher above the ground.
The design is great, you can tell that every single detail has been thought out with the user in mind; whether it was to make it comfortable or easy to store or enjoyable, they didn't cut corners.
The alcantara is a nice touch!
Storing it away is extremely easy, it takes just few seconds after developing the muscle memory :) If your wheel base is bulky like mine, make sure to tilt the steering wheel all the way in, if not almost upside down. The only downside of folding it is that you will loose the pedals setting, but I'm thinking that with the right marker I could mark the position on the rods.
Enough for now, let's race!

It is perfect designed for small space and can be folded into a very small size. The best about this rig is that all the peripherals (i.e. the wheel, pedels) stay attached to the ri, even when folded.
I was also very suprized to see how stable it was. There is no movement that would feel wierd. I sit comfotrably in this chair even though i'm 2 meteres big.
The only thing that bothers me is the price. I would love to see that rig at a price of 150 €, that way it could fit perfectly between the higher positioned playseat evolution and conventional wheelstands.
I would recommend this product as an entry- Level rig and as a console rig. It is stable and drilled for most wheels on the market. I would definetly buy this product again and the shipment was fast and reliable. It only took two days to deliver to Germany. Great Product!!! -

So I was left with a fully foldable cheap racing seat option, and in the whole market Playseat Challenge was the one and only choice.
So I researched and bought it.
After 2 weeks of testing, I can give my pros and cons:
+ amazing stability, the wheel and the pedals are firmly in their place, neglegible moving/bouncing.
+ I can feel force feedback through all the seat construction
+ from fully folded to fully installed in less than 2 minutes
+ amazing foldability, very easy to store, even self-standing when folded
+ quite comfortable, I use it not only for racing, but also for other gaming and general PC usage
+ Quality of the materials looks very good
- the seat sometimes squeaks a little bit when not sitting still
- even with discounted price (200€) and despite the good build quality, it is still a little expensive. But hey, it's not mass produced so we can't expect amazing prices. -

With respect to price, being from Canada I purchased the seat from Playseatstore.com directly in USD. I thought it would be shipped from the US but it was actually shipped from the Netherlands. The shipping was about $40USD via FedEx which resulted in another ~$30USD of customs and brokerage charges. So be aware of this depending on your country.
On receipt it was packaged nicely in a large box. Instructions to assemble were straight forward and I had it setup in about 10 minutes. The hook-and-loop straps (Velcro) are thick and strong but the little cloth red tabs used to grip and separate the straps are flimsy. They ripped off immediately. So top tip, don't use those to undo the straps, just grab the edge of the strap and pull.
Once assembled the overall design and construction is well executed. It's much beefier than a fold-up camping chair. I like the small rod that extends from the left side to potentially offer added stability. The rotating hinge for the wheel mount bar is a substantial piece of plastic, but plastic nonetheless. As is the locking collar that secures the bar in place. I will be sure to be gentle on those pieces as a failure would render the steering wheel mount useless.
In terms of ergonomics there is a lot of adjustability but you cannot adjust the height of the steering wheel, only the plane or tilt of the wheel face. The pedal holder feels solid and offers nice fore and aft adjustability but no tilt. I did like that additional hook-and-loop straps were provided to secure the wires and keep things looking clean. Also the additional straps to hold it in the fold-up position are well placed.
In terms of adjusting the seat position it does require you to get out of the seat, adjust the arm straps and sit back down to test it out. A few times doing this can be tiring but once set it was set in a comfortable position and it won't need to be reset, unless for a different person.
The seat is much firmer than I thought it would be. With the straps holding the seat material to the frame taut it feels firm, almost on the hard side. I like the Alcantara but once you're playing you don't notice it. Time will tell if I experience any fatigue on longer sessions.
Overall, I'm satisfied and happy with the quality and performance of the Playseat Challenge, but given the price, shipping, and brokerage I'm blown away with the value. It's good, but not a steal. -

Enter the Playseat Challenge!!
Perfectly compact to store under the spare room bed yet sturdy enough to enjoy hours of gaming and repeated bashings from the dual motor force feedback in my Logitech G29 wheel, with no one to distract me or offer their unwanted reviews on my driving mastery!
The alcantara seat material offers a very soft and comfortable seat with a perfect driving position and strong pedal support, and all this with the ability to hide the seat away when your parents visit and may be fooled into thinking your still a teenager with your own gaming setup.
All in all, a great piece of kit and will transform any driving game you play whilst making you feel like you could smash any F1 driver on a good day!
Top-TIP!! Add a strong door lock to your man cave for an even better, uninterrupted gaming experience and while you are at that, clip on a cup holder to the frame to keep hydrated and cool!
Must buy for any gamer!! -

Wheels. Price points. Models, etc.
then I wondered, as I have always... "what about racing seats? aren't they huge, bulky and expensive?"... just a bit of clicking around and bam, I found this. The Playseat Challenge.
At first glance, just perfect. And it's not because of room - I have room for anything. But, it had all the potential. A great price point (that is, if you add a Challenge and a reasonable wheel it adds up to a comfortable price), the space saving always comes in handy (in terms of storage) and dare I say I was really actually intrigued, and pleased to see that it was .. well, looks great, comfy, with the smart materials where they matter. Soft touch at the top; that's where you'll touch. Strong yet just-right velcro straps where needed, and the right plastic/metal tube mix needed to offer you the lightweight and great price product.
Even the shopping experience (US east coast here). One day earlier than anticipated, so I was very pleasantly surprised when it arrived!
For reference, I use it with a Thrustmaster TMX with the better pedals, no shifter at the moment (happy paddle shifting but might get the shifter some day).
I hate to say I'm not sure I'd tell anybody dabbling lightly into this hobby to get any other seat than this one! (and if you already know more and lean to the higher end stuff, go ahead!)
Installation and packaging was top notch. Packaging was in my opinion above the price point. Every corner that could be damaged/knicked had foam or other protection on it. Installation is straightforward and for me perfect (maybe some people might want words not just pictures? but I think if you are capable of configuring wheel controls for video games you go this ;).
Finally, a data point. An eight year old is able to use it (with some pillows), as well as me (average height/build).
Kudos to Playseat for making this product! -

Setting the seat up was a breeze, it folds easily and takes up surprisingly little space. The directions weren't bad, although it might be good to add some descriptions of things since it all is pictures. It's totally comfortable during racing although long sessions start to cause slight pressure points right above my knees where my thighs contact the chair, but if I lower the angle any further to reduce that pressure then the headrest is in an awkward position and has too steep an angle. Still comfortable though, just take a break every hour or so you'll have no problems. With that said, it's very adjustable which is cool. I haven't had anyone else race on it besides myself but I know that I'd be able to adjust it to their height, etc.
I'm already experiencing the fabric popping out from behind the small plastic windows near the headrest and I've had to use a pointy object to kinda cram it back in there which was annoying to see after only a few weeks of it sitting around and maybe seeing 20 hours of use. Only a cosmetic issue but still, not a great sign considering my other qualms with this seat.
Also the latch point of the wheel mount cross bar immediately starts showing wear due to it making very solid contact when in the locked driving position. I don't think it'll cause any problems but I'm mildly concerned about the long term durability since there are metal parts contacting plastic parts.
Same goes for the wheel rotation position adjustment. Even when firmly in place there's a fair amount of wiggle room. It makes me feel slightly nervous about racing roughly (hard corners and whatnot) and I end up re-tightening the knob every 30 minutes or so just to make sure it's still in place. With that said, it's cool that this seat can adjust the wheel angle since plenty of mounts cannot.
Cord management is fine, and there are plenty of extra velcro pieces that you can use to tie cords where you want them to be.
The seat might feel flimsy and start to tip easily when you aren't sitting in it, but don't let that fool you. That's part of what makes this rig's overall design cool because it's solid as a rock when you're sitting in it. Your weight is vital to the stability of the seat.
I'm not the biggest fan of the way the chair adjusts the distance to the pedals. It appears to be just a single plastic pin on each side that "screws" down to hold the bars in place at the desired extension. I would much prefer a more concrete setting like it was locking into a hole in the metal bar (similar to the way the rotation wheel mount secures to the left side of the seat). I say this because I didn't turn them enough the first time and when I hit the brakes hard at one point during a race the whole thing started to lurch forward a bit and I had to pause in order to tighten things down into the correct position again. When I tightened the pins down harder than the first time it just didn't feel right because I feel like I'm gonna break the small plastic part. And they could still come loose easily and cause the same issue. Maybe I'm missing something obvious which solves that problem. I guess just beware, make sure you've got everything secured.
Solid seat, but I do think this thing is kinda pricey. I got it on sale, but the suggested retail is $270. If you can spare the extra ~$100 just get one of the Evolution seats unless the storage space of the Challenge is a must for you, since I bet the full seat rigs are much sturdier and solid. But if space is the concern you cannot go wrong with this seat.
I'm happy with the purchase. It definitely solidified my love of racing games since driving with a real wheel in a real seat is super awesome. -

Firstly, it arrived before the anticipated arrival date.
The seat build quality is surprisingly good. The many levels of adjustability means everyone - family and friends - can find a comfortable position. It is sturdy and stable - made all the more so, thanks to your body weight holding it down. It doesn't feel like a "portable" rig, but the fact that it folds out of the way is a major bonus!
My one criticism is minor - the manual uses pictograms, which are generally self-explanatory. But it comes with a bag of accessories (bolts, straps, velcro strips) whose functions are not necessarily obvious, if you've never used a steering wheel before. The manual could be a bit more explicit about their functions.
Overall, excellent value, without compromising quality and stability. I highly recommend it. All my mates who've given it a go are planning to purchase one too. -

The real reason I want to write this review, however, is to talk about how this fits in an amazingly small space. I have an incredibly small bedroom, and I never believed I could get a chair that would fit, still be comfortable and securely hold my wheel and pedals. After a very long debate with myself (months), I bought the Playseat Challenge to see if I could make it work. I honestly expected to return it a few days later, upset that it wouldn't fit in my room.
Amazingly, it does, and comfortably so. Yes, folded up it can be stuck just about anywhere. It really does fold down as small as it seems in the video. When I assembled mine I didn't adjust it much. I'm not leaning way back, and it's actually comfortable for me to have the pedals closest to the seat. I'm 6 feet tall, by the way, and even like this I'm very comfortable and not cramped. My knees are not hitting the base of the wheel or getting in the way. There is just enough space in my room for me to sit like this. I could maybe bring the pedals out an inch farther, maybe lean the seat back just barely more, but luckily don't have to.
Everything else about this chair is great as well. The material of the seat feels very heavy duty, and I do not worry about it. It's comfortable material as well. My longest play session in it is probably two hours, and I never got uncomfortable.
This is an easy five star review for me. Great material, seems very durable, comfortable, and it can actually fit in my super tiny bedroom. Amazing! -

Its not that comfortable and stable like an evolution or something like that, but its good enough to make a lot of fun.

It works great for my Logitech G920, and all you need to do is screw it in, and place the additional gear shifter and you're good to go. There are many things that are great about this chair, such as the adjustable pedal holder, or the adjustable wheel angle... The fold up feature works great for just sliding into a closet or against the wall and out of the way, and it doesn't even take more than 5-6 minutes for you to put it all away. For the price it's just overall a great beginner cockpit... -

Pros:
- clever design perfect for small spaces
- seat is surprisingly comfortable
- adds to the immersion
- easy to setup
- fast shipping to the US
- reasonable price
Cons
- wheel deck is a little tilted
- the gear shifter attachment is far too expensive for what it is
- using a load cell, and the pedals tend to move around a little bit after a session. They haven't detached from the base, but it would be better if there existed a more solid connection between the base and the rest of the seat.
- pedals are only attached via one piece of Velcro onto the pedal base. adds another layer of movement.

The seat has plenty of adjustment to suit many shapes and sizes. My friend is much taller than me and it took seconds to adjust the seat for him to play.

It's extremely well built and very sold whilst using it.

1) Great design and quality
2) Very comfortable and adaptable to any person, driving position or peripheral
3) Quick and easy setup and storage
4) Portable
5) A fun simulation driving experience
Cons / flaws:
1) After all costs considered a bit pricey considering what you get: Euro dollar, Dutch taxes, shipping cost, duty and Canadian taxes.
2) The steering wheel platform is a little tilted
3) The steering support arm and attachment are not solid; the steering wheel is allowed to wiggle.
4) The pedal platform cannot withstand heavy pushes on the break pedal. Using the Ricmotech load module modification for my G25 pedals, the pedal attachment arms became unglued.
5) The seat does not include a gear shift attachment -

Price/Quality:
Can't argue too much here. This is their lowest priced seat, and is the most practical of the bunch as well. Got a cramped living space? Got kids? Most importantly, got a wife/girlfriend who won't let you put a permanent rig in the middle of the living room or bedroom? This is the chair for you! I've got a family of six living in a three bedroom house, so space is a bit at a premium. I can fold the chair down and put it away out of sight easy. None of the other chairs offered by Playseat can do this. You'd think they'd charge a premium for it being practical, but not so. I'm pleased with what I got for the money I paid. It's not perfect, but few things in this world are.
Comfort:
This chair is very, very comfortable once you've got it set up how you like. I've fallen asleep in this thing because of how it cradles you. It may be a little too comfortable in that case. There's only one minor ding I have against it in the comfort category, but I'm going to leave that criticism in the design section.
Design: The guys at Playseat actually did a pretty good job designing this seat considering the value you get for it. I've got some problems with the chair, and this part of the review is going to mostly go over the negatives I have with the design.
I've got a Logitech G27 (as I'm sure most people who opt for an entry-level setup do), and the wheel itself mounts up perfectly to the mounting plate. They include the hardware you need. You just line up the wheel with the holes on the plate and mount it on. There's a big knob on the bottom of the plate for adjusting the tilt on the wheel. The knob tightens down a small, plastic splined piece into a mating splined piece on the plate itself. This makes the wheel fairly secure when tightened and has a minimum of slop. My only concern is that both spline surfaces are plastic, so the teeth might get chewed up if you don't tighten the pieces down perfectly straight and aligned with each other. Just take care with alignment and there should be no long-term troubles. Will you be adjusting this a lot? That depends. If you put the chair away after use, you will be adjusting this every single time you. Same with the pedals.
In order to get a G27 to work with this, you have to buy an additional bracket to mount it to the main wheel. If you're handy, you can buy an L bracket at a home center and fabricate your own, but I didn't mind paying for it. The shifter screws onto the plate, and the plate is clamped into the wheel with its main clamps. That's it. The problem with this design is that you can't fold the chair up with the shifter installed. You have to unclamp the bracket and slide it out of the wheel. With a little effort you can figure out how to fold the chair up and keep the shifter nice and tidy when folded, but it's an added hassle.
One major positive to how the seat is designed is how the entire wheel section pivots out of the way for you to get in and out of the seat. There's an extension arm at the foot of the chair to compensate for the balance when this is done. The chair would flop over without it, so it's good they included that feature.
The chair is a bit of a hassle to get in and out of. It's slung very low, which is part of why it's so comfortable. But getting in and out can be a chore.
Now onto the pedals. There has been a lot of criticism about the red plastic screws on the foot pedals breaking. I'm going to tell you the reason they break is that people over-tighten them. A lot. You don't need to go at them like a 400 pound gorilla. Give them about a half turn once you start to feel them making contact with the bar. Make them snug, not tight. Do this and your screws won't break, and they'll hold just fine. That having been said, I wish they could have put detents into the bar for easily repeatable settings. One of the more appealing aspects of this chair is that you can fold it up and put it away. The downside to this is that you lose your pedal setting every single time you put it away. One work around for this is to get the pedals adjusted how you like, and then mark the bars with pencil so that you can see where to lock the sliders down. A bit of a hassle, but certainly not a deal-breaker.
A nice aspect is that the bar itself pivots up and down. You can fold up a towel, find a box or something else, and adjust the pedal angle. There's no built-in clamp for angle adjustment, but at this price point what can you expect?
And now for the biggest beef I have with the entire chair. This would be an absolute deal-breaker for some people--the chair is very, very, VERY narrow. I don't know who Playseat has working in their testing/QA department, but they all must be super skinny and small. I can't believe no one noticed and/or addressed this issue before deployment. I'm not a big person by any means, and I barely squeeze into it. There are metal rings used to connect the arm straps to the bars. These rings cut into my thighs because of how narrow the chair is. If you're built like a child, have no worries. If you're average sized, take caution. If you're a big boy or girl, forget it. Playseat's lack of attention on this one aspect is appalling.
Fun:
Is it fun? You bet. Once you get it set up, it's a lot of fun. Your wheel and cables are a one-time setup once you've got the wheel base aligned with the plate and the wires wrapped to the lengths you need. Adjusting wheel tilt and pedal length every time sucks, but the chair folds up, so it's a given. One last ding on the fun factor is how heavy this rig is once you have everything installed. With a G27 setup, this thing weighs about 35 lbs (or approximately 16 kgs). Weight and adjustments are downsides, but don't ding the final score because there's little Playseat could do to change these things. It simply comes with the territory.
Overall:
The TL;DR version: A great entry-level chair for people on a budget or people who have a demanding roommate. The only chair in the lineup that folds up to be put away. Build quality is good. Be gentle with the plastic, ESPECIALLY the pedal screws (snug, NOT tight). Take caution if you're a big person because the chair is extremely narrow. It's a lot of fun, negatives aside, and you'll never go back to an office chair after experiencing this. Definitely worth the money. Go get one. Now. -

My wife was totally against a cockpit standing in our living room and that force me to play with a gamepad for long time.
Until I found out about Playseat Challenge and after showing her some pictures/videos, I finally got "approval" to pull the trigger!
Actually the other day after playing at night I forgot to put it inside the cabinet again and found out my wife sitting on it reading a book. So yes, it's really comfortable and flexible :)
Now about the Challenge as a product.
There are lots of Pros:
It's much more comfortable that I had thought. Really, you can sit there for hours and not feel tired. I think it's even more comfortable than regular office chairs or some seating avaiable in other cockpits.
It really adapts to your body shape and weight. You just feel that you're safe and steady, like in a real racing seat.
Another thing I've liked is there is no central support between your legs. In this sense it's also more like a real car than most cockpits.
The build quality is quite high. The material your body will be in contact is really nice, it feels great and not sweaty as leather seats. The structure is sturdy enough. I have it for a short time, but it does look like it will last long.
Assembling was a piece of cake. Provided assembly manual is very clear, you just follow the steps and it's ready to be used in a few minutes.
I've bought a Thrustmaster T300RS together, so let's talk about putting both together.
The wheel base fits nicely, attached with 2 screws included in Challenge package. Balance is quite good as it's the position to drive. There is a simple adjustment on the lower part of the wheel base support, allowing to turn it up/down to your own preference.
Pedal set included with T300RS can be fixed with an included stripe and it stays in place when driving.
Cons:
To be fair there are a few cons, but I'd say they are more related to the Thrustmaster T300RS fitting in this product than the product itself. You may have different opinion if using different racing wheel.
But let's talk about them: when not in use, you'll probably want to close the Challenge for easy storage, as this is probably the reason you bought it anyway. The thing is, the way the wheel base is attached to the support (and there is no other way to attach it), make it impossible to fully close the Challenge, as the wheel itself will hit the chair fabric in the bottom part.
If you have a different wheel that the base is attached further, this won't happen. In my case I have to open a strap everytime I want to fully close the Challenge, which is not a big deal, but not nice as well.
Another con is how the pedals are attached to the base. There are no screws or plate to attach. Just a strap to go around the pedals and the Challenge base. Since T300RS standard pedals are on the small side, it's a little loose. There is stopper in the base though, so when playing I don't feel any movement as pressing the pedals just make it go agains the stopper anyway.
Attached picture showing the cons only, but the pros outweigh the cons for sure.
It doesn't get maximum stars for all criteria just because of that.
Bottomline:
Overall Challenge is a really nice and well designed product, I totally recommend it!
If you don't want (or can't) your racing rig using your room space all the time, this is what you should buy.
It's really much better than those things that you only attach your wheel/pedals and you have to sit on the sofa. -

The collapsible design is perfect for small apartment living, or for someone who likes to store their gaming chair away when not in use. It was very simple to get up and going out of the box as well.
It is somewhat heavy once the pedals and wheel are attached, but that should be expected. The quality of the build on this chair is worth the extra weight anyway. There is no noticeable wobble and the chair is comfortable enough to get through endurance races without much issue!
I only have two small issues, or quirks, rather. One, I had to use some of the foam in the box to make little anti scuff pads so that the chair didn't scratch my hard wood floor. 2. I'm having problems with wire management. The wires from my g27, if not wrapped around one of the legs, fall right on my legs which can get tangled. But that's not necessarily a chair problem, and more of a system one.
Anyway. This thing is great! The same feel and security as a larger set up with the added bonus of storability! I would recommend this product. -

Then someone told me about the PlaySeat Challange. At first I thought it was expensive for a 'fold down chair' but after reading some online reviews I took the plunge and I have to say, it's been a fantastic purchase.
The quality of the components is 1st class, assembly was ridiculously easy. From opening the box to sitting in the chair i spent less than 15 minutes. The instructions were extremely easy to follow but in all honesty you could put it together without them as there are just a few pieces to slot together.
And the comfort, oh how comfortable it is! I easily found myself playing for 2/3hrs without getting out of it, it's super comfortable. When in use it pretty much fills up what free floor space I have, as you can see from the photo but it quickly folds down for storage taking up minimal space. So compact it fits into the back of the wardrobe.
I have no hesitation in recommending the PlaySeat Challenge for those with either limited space or a limited budget. You will not be disappointed. -

It is quite sturdy (I'm using a TX on it), I can play for hours without feeling tired or uncomfortable, and once I'm done, I can easily put it away and use close to no space at all. -

I played racing simulators with other seats but this seat is just epic!
It can be folded and stored in a small place like I did. I will reccomend to others for sure, Thankyou Playseat :)! -

The only negative part of the aquisition was the promise that it was compatible with all steering wheels and pedals currently available. This might have been technicaly true, but in the case of my Thrustmaster T80 (and other wheels with similar mounting systems) this ment that the only way it could be mounted was with the wheel almost touching my chest. So it was succesfully mount but obviously not in a way that I could use. In order to usefully mount the wheel I found an adaptor from Wheel Stand Pro (€17,99) and I drilled a two extra holes in the mountingplaform. Now it fits great and I’m glad to own the Playseat Challenge. I just found the assurance of near universal compatabilty somewhat misleading. -

Cons: Quite pricey, I wonder about long term durability
This will be a short review of the Playseat Challenge intended to provide information to those interested in the seat who are unable to see it in person prior to ordering. As Playseat don’t have many local stockists I suspect that most people will be ordering without ever having seen the chair themselves, as I did.
I purchased the chair from the Playseat UK store and it arrived a week later well packaged from Italy. Upon opening the box initial impressions were good; the alcantara material used for the seat is very soft and feels high quality, the metal frame tubing powder coated evenly with no marks or damage. Assembly of the seat was straightforward with adequate instructions provided.
My Logitech G27 wheel mounted solidly using the supplied allen key and bolts. The wheel stand is metal with predrilled holes for various wheel manufacturers and according to the Playseat website it “works with all steering wheels and pedals currently available” – I assume this is because you could simply clamp your wheel to the stand as you would on a normal desk in the event that the Challenge doesn’t have pre-drilled holes for your wheel type. The wheel angle is adjustable by a clamp on the bottom side and allows for a wide range of adjustment. Once clamped the wheel feels solid enough in place with a slight forward/backward flex when applying force but importantly there is no sideways play. I can say that the forward/backward flex is small enough as to be not noticeable during gameplay, it’s a non-issue.
I have the Playseat Gearshift Support bracket to mount the G27’s gear shift unit. There’s not much to say on it, it’s essentially a straight bracket mounted to the seat using the gear shifter and wheel’s own clamps. It allows you to mount the shifter on the left or right hand side of the wheel.
To the front of the chair the pedals are mounted with a Velcro strap to a telescopic frame allowing adjustment for different lengths according to your height. Here we find my only gripe with the Playseat Challenge – the clamping thumbscrews which allow for the telescopic adjustment are made of plastic and I’d prefer them to have a metal thread improving their durability. The pedal angle is not adjustable which may be a problem for some however I imagine it would be possible to pack out the bottom of your pedals to angle them if this was a big concern.
In use, I really like the Challenge. It’s adjustable enough to go from an almost lying down F1 style seating position to a more upright touring car position and everywhere in-between whilst being comfortable enough to be used for long periods of time. I’m setting the chair up at my desk and pulling my monitor forward so that the screen is just above the steering wheel and it works well. It takes me about 30 seconds to open the chair up (just like a deck chair) and connect it to mains and USB, it’s much quicker than having to clamp a wheel to a desk every time you feel like playing and it folds away small enough (60 x 49 x 38 cm folded) to allow me to store it in a wardrobe. This is very important to me as I can’t/don’t want to have a permanent Playseat setup. The Challenge would be great for use in a living room setup being light enough to move around and pack away.
Overall I have no qualms recommending the Playseat Challenge, I’ve been enjoying mine for 2 months now without issue. I do wonder how its long term durability will be, will the alcantara seating material stretch over time? Will the plastic thumbscrews wear out? However for now these are if’s and but’s, I have no evidence anything will fail and the chair feels solidly put together. -
